Can't like Medlab...

Joshua accompanied me to the Medlab today so I could have a blood test. At first he was quite happy to sit and play in the waiting room with me but then he must have remembered the last time we went there. Last time we visited the Medlab Joshua had a blood test, an allergy test and a nasal swab to test for whooping cough. Very traumatic but long forgotten or so I thought. Obviously not. He got very agitated and wanted to leave. Even when I assured him it was me that was getting the needle. "No, Mummy not get injection. No, Joshua can't like it" He was almost in tears. When it was my turn I explained to the nurse why he was being difficult. She was great and tried to calm him too. I distracted him as well as I could but even when the needle was gone he still looked like he might cry. Until... the lovely nurse drew a special monster face on a plaster for his hand. He was very chuffed with his cool plaster and left medlab smiling. Thank goodness for fantastic nurses. Maybe next time we go he won't be so upset.
