After spending the past 2 days shut up at home with a rotten cold Joshua and I had some visitors round today to liven things up. Joshua made half a dozen phone calls in the morning organising the visit and then after lunch stood at his bedroom window all excited about their arrival. He must have seen them coming down the driveway 'cause he ran to get me so I could open the door. He greeted Ms Frizzle with two hands and gently lifted Liz inside. Janet unfortunately wasn't welcomed so kindly as Joshua sort of chucked her in the door. After Joshua introduced them all to me he took them upstairs one by one. Janet got to go up last and she must be unluckly as Joshua dropped her down the stairs and had to come back for her. Joshua played hide and seek with his new friends for a good 15mins until he came down the stairs crying because he couldn't find Ms. Frizzle and needed my help. Hmmmm how do you help your son find an imaginary friend? He eventually found her and they had a great time. He told me all about it after they left. But then Ms Frizzle rang to say that they were coming back. This time I insisted that we vacuum before anymore guests came so Joshua gave me a hand doing the lounge :o) Joshua had some extremely indepth conversations with his friends about going to preschool and Mainly Music etc. I was beginning to get a bit worried that I would start to hear someone actually responding. I wonder who might come visitng tomorrow.
(If you are not up on kids TV it may help to know that these characters are off the Magic School Bus. Janet is the most annoying character so that perhaps explains her mistreatment.)
