We went to Joshua's little friend's birthday (Ben) on Saturday at Glenbrook Railway Station where Thomas was visiting for the weekend with all his friends. Joshua has just recently got really into Thomas after finding a blue Thomas set at Grandma's so he was thrilled to ride the real thing. After the first ride on the train Joshua said to his Daddy that he wanted the train to start bouncing again! I guess that is what steam train travel feels like.... bouncy. He didn't like how noisy the trains were and both Ben and Joshua jumped out of their skin when Dianna blew her whistle. :o) Joshua could be seen with his hands over his ears for a large portion of the day.
Joshua really didn't want to leave (it helped that he had napped in the car on the way there. For the first time ever Joshua put his head back and said "I might just have a sleep in the car" I was gobsmacked but sure enough he slept all the way to Glenbrook.) On the way home in the car he was wide awake talking non-stop about the railway and asked if he could go the next day.
On Sunday he asked us repeatedly to take him back to see Thomas and was most upset when we refused. I will have to keep and eye out for future Thomas visits. In the meantime we have started to look for blue Thomas track to extend his set (we have just discovered the down side to Thomas... the price!!)
