Meltdown
Joshua was a bit under the weather today and his mood at times reflected this. His first meltdown was in a bookstore when Daddy said he couldn't carry him anymore. I was able to get down to his level and talk him out of that particular meltdown (an older lady saw it all happen and said afterwards, "that was amazing. It was just like watching an episode of The Nanny" Lol she should have seen our house this afternoon for meltdown number 2. It was a good example of how it all goes wrong. Joshua grabbed the broom off me and said "Joshua help" I wasn't impressed by his lack of manners and grabbed it back asking him to remember his manners. He then quickly said please but i decided he needed to wait until I was done since he only said please after prompting. Joshua went off in a fury and said "Joshua throw something at Mummy. I find something" with that he picked up a lump of dirt and hurled it at me. I grabbed him and marched him upstairs to his room (we just made it up the stairs and he was dangling upside down by the time we reached his room...wiggle monster) Anyway he ranted and raved for a bit then called me through. I thought he sounded slightly calmer so I walked toward the gate. It was a trap. "I throw this at Mummy" Joshua screamed manically as he hurled a toy car at me. It missed luckily and I took my leave again. I left him for another couple of minutes ranting about throwing a ball at me and then tried again. I said that I wouldn't come to him if he was going to throw the ball at me and was going to go back to my room unless the ball was put down. He quickly put it down and them apologised and agreed that it is not nice to throw things at people. Let's hope that he doesn't do that at preschool.
